Welcome to your weekly rundown of the week’s gaming news. It’ll be a bit of a short one as much of our intrepid news team was slightly indisposed this week.

April 26 – Call of Duty: World War 2 announced

Activision held an hour long livestream for Call of Duty: World War 2 to reveal some fresh details about the game.

Some of the revelations include:

  • There will be a single player campaign.
  • The campaign will follow the US 1st infantry Division through the War
  • There will be multiplayer.
  • The multiplayer will include a ‘social space’ similar to Destiny’s tower.
  • Health will no longer regenerate over time.
  • The game will release in November (The 3rd to be exact)

April 27 – Nintendo unveiled a yet another new console. The 2DS XL is essentially an ideal version of the 3DS, with none of the 3D functionality which most games don’t even use and a larger form factor which actually fits human sized hands all for just $150. With a fairly large library of games already available in the 3DS catalog it seems like a smart move to refresh the platform’s look.  It remains to be seen if any developers will bother making new games for this device now that the Switch is in the wild so the new device could be a bit hamstrung by competition from the new kid on the block.

That’s about it for this weeks news. Take Care everybody!
