Top 10 Monster Catching Games

1. Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver

I don’t think it’ll be much of a surprise that Pokemon is topping our list of monster taming games. The franchise has been held dearly by fans of all ages, myself included, for as long as it’s existed and while most of the games are all great in their own way. But there’s one set of games that sticks out among the rest and that’s HeartGold and SoulSilver. The remakes of the classic second generation are overall solid games. The music and graphics are both incredible, but more importantly HG and SS offer up plenty of pokemon for the trainer to choose from. Your lead Pokemon will even follow you, making your emotional attachment to the creature seem even stronger and that’s what Pokemon is all about. Picking your favorite pokemon and blasting through the game always feels truly special in Pokemon, it’s something that just sets Pokemon in a whole other league than the other monster taming games in the world.
