Become the Hero of Heroes

Trophy Guide

Before you take a gander at the Ratchet & Clank trophy guide, please be aware that there are spoilers below.

This platinum takes about 20-30 hours depending on your luck with holocard drops.

The Hero of Heroes – Platinum Trophy

Collect every trophy in Ratchet & Clank.

The End of the Beginning – Gold Trophy

Story Trophy

Defeat Dr. Nefarious on the Deplanetizer.

Super Trader – Gold Trophy

Complete every holocard set.

*This trophy will require multiple playthroughs. You must obtain all 9 RYNO cards, along with every card set in the game. From my experience, it looks like using the weapon for the weapon set cards will help unlock that series of cards. You cannot trade in any card without having at least one card attained in the set.

Challenging – Silver Trophy

Complete the game in challenge mode.

*This trophy requires two playthroughs. After completing the game on any difficulty, challenge mode will unlock. Beat the game on challenge mode to obtain this trophy.

Ultimate Explorer – Silver Trophy

Collect every gold bolt.

*Finding the gold bolts may be a challenge. When you can access the planets from your ship, you can see how many gold bolts you need on each planet. Once you’ve obtained the gadget that allows you to see the location of all the bolts, you can see where each is on your map. The only particularly difficult bolt is on Rilgar. You require the breathing apparatus from Pokitaru to swim in the sewers once they’re full. Look at your map to see where the bolt is, then swim to it.

Take a look at the Ratchet & Clank wikia for in depth locations of the gold bolts.

Full Gun Rack – Silver Trophy

Acquire every weapon in the game.

*Obtain all the weapons, including the RYNO, which is obtained through collecting all 9 RYNO cards.

The RYNO cards are located on these worlds:

1 – Rilgar (two cards – one from winning the hoverboard races)

2 – Kerwan – Aleero City

3 – Nebula G34

4 – Gaspar – On the back and lowest platform of a larger platform when collecting brains. North East part of the map.

5 – Batalia – Found after using the trespasser to enter a secret area.

6 – Quartu

7 – Kalebo – Win the hoverboard races

8 – Deplanetizer

Master of War

Upgrade every weapon to maximum level

*This trophy will take 2-3 playthroughs. After unlocking all weapons, you must level each up to 5. Once at 5, you can purchase the Omega version of each weapon for a significant amount of bolts. From there, they level up to 10. The only weapon you don’t have to level is the disguise weapon.

These go to Eleven – Silver Trophy

Unlock every modification for every weapon

*This trophy will require 2-3 playthroughs. Each weapon requires raritanium to unlock a modification. With each level, more modifications are unlockable. Once you buy the Omega, all modifications are available to unlock. This trophy requires a hefty amount of raritanium. Equip weapons with a higher raritanium drop percentage to make this chore go quickly.

Mr. Fancypants – Silver Trophy

Upgrade Ratchet’s health to maximum.

*This trophy will require 2-3 playthroughs. Essentially, just level up Ratchet until he has 200/200 health.

Tech Head – Silver Trophy

Acquire every gadget

*This trophy is actually a lot easier than it looks. You can obtain this on your first playthrough. Once you obtain the gadget (on Kalebo) that shows the location of every collectible on every map, return to Gaspar and collect all 80 brains for the Blarg scientist. He will upgrade your Ratchet, and, if you’ve obtained every other gadget (most are not missable), this should be your last – unless you choose to blindly find all the brains. The best way to unlock this trophy is to make certain you explore every reachable area on each world.

Abby Normal – Silver Trophy

Collect every Telepathopus brain

*This trophy will unlock when you obtain the 60th brain on Gaspar. Use the gadget I described earlier to locate all the brains on your map and systematically collect them.

Go Speed Ratchet, Go! – Silver Trophy

Win the gold cup on both Rilgar and Kalebo

*This trophy is easy if you just complete the three races on both Rilgar and Kalebo. Stay patient if you fail a couple of times. You don’t need any special times for this one – just first place.

Safecracker – Silver Trophy

Complete every Trespasser puzzle without using Auto-Hack

*It’s easy enough to complete these puzzles without auto-hack. Make sure to find all of the hidden Trespasser puzzles, however. The locations are:

1 – Rilgar
2 – Kerwan
3 – Nebula G34
4 – Nebula G34
5 – Nebula G34
6 – Batalia
7 – Batalia
8 – Quartu
9 – Quartu
10 – Quartu
11 – Pokitaru
12 – Pokitaru
13 – Deplanetizer
14 – Deplanetizer
15 – Deplanetizer
16 – Deplanetizer

Maximizing Potential – Silver Trophy

Upgrade one weapon to maximum level.

*This trophy will most likely unlock on your second playthrough. Simply upgrade a weapon to level 5, buy the Omega version, and upgrade it all the way to 10.

Faster than a Speeding Amoeboid – Silver Trophy

Complete the hoverboard gold cup in Rilgar in under 1:35

*This one can be frustrating and tough. Cut your corners, boost often, and pull off plenty of tricks to claim this trophy.

Kalebo Thunder – Silver Trophy

Complete the hoverboard gold cup in Kalebo in under 2:05

*Much easier than its counterpart in Rilgar. Take the jump and platform to the right, shortly after the first set of green gates. You will find a second set of green gates; go through them and jump through the newly opened wall section. This will shave off close to a dozen seconds on your overall time. I cleared this stage with about 15 seconds to spare.

Kerwan Gladiator – Silver Trophy

Complete the fitness course on Kerwan in under 70 seconds

*This may seem daunting, but once you get Clank’s booster upgrade, your flight from the tops of the course go quicker. Try not to fall, as you don’t have much room for imperfection. It is okay, however, if you have to wait for the walls to protrude again.

Crush 5 gadgebots in the crusher on Quartu

*You’ll know when you see this. You need to use one gadgebot to power the crushers on the moving belt. When it’s about a quarter of the way through the first power source, toss a gadgebot under the lifted crusher. Repeat five times.

That Sinking Feeling – Bronze Trophy

Knock a constructobot into the quicksand on Aridia

*Throw your wrench or shoot one into the quicksand that densely inhabits Aridia. Be careful not to step in yourself!

I Hate Lamp – Bronze Trophy

Break every lamp in Aleero City

*Aleero City is on Kerwan. Take the train to it, and destroy every lamp in the area. The lamps across from the train at the station in Aleero City do not count toward this trophy, so don’t worry about shooting them (though they are prone to destruction).

Not My Job – Bronze Trophy

Allow the extermibots to kill 35 amoeboids in Rilgar

*Amoeboids are the flange looking green blobs that you’ll find running amok in Rilgar. Instead of running in and blasting both the amoeboids and extermibots away, allow them to kill each other. This trophy should ring in no time.

Top Gunner – Bronze Trophy

Defeat 40 enemies while jetpacking in Gaspar

*Just remember about this one. When you’re hunting for brains on Gaspar, be sure to jetpack around while killing the foes around you.

When Sheep Fly – Bronze Trophy

Sheepinate a Blarg Helicopter Commander

*This was one of the last trophies I unlocked. The only helicopter enemy in the game, the Blarg Helicopter Commanders are limited in number (although there are ample opportunities to sheepinate them). Take your Sheepinator and let loose!

Warbots into Plowshares – Bronze Trophy

Destroy 10 inactive warbots inside the Quartu factory.

*Before or after you defeat Mrs. Zurkon, make sure you destroy 10 of the warbots riding the conveyor belts in the factory where ou battle her.

Pool Sharks are the Worst – Bronze Trophy

Get eaten by a pool shark in the Pokitaru Ocean

*Simply jump into the waters in Pokitaru and find yourself a large, unfriendly pool shark. One chomp and this trophy is yours.

Character Assassination – Bronze Trophy

Destroy all of the planet models in Drek’s office

*While infiltrating the Deplanetizer, you’ll find yourself in Chairman Drek’s office. Shoot and destroy each of the holographic looking planets to earn this one.

Et Tu, Copernicus? – Bronze Trophy

Find Qwark’s lounge on the Deplanetizer

*This one can be tricky. On the mini-map, find the two, thin sections of hallways located about center of the map. In the second set of halls, take the right path and stand outside the door. Listen to what Captain Qwark has to say, and the trophy is yours.

Lazy Lombax – Bronze Trophy

Ride every catwalk without moving in Kalebo

*This one is simple. There are four catwalks in Kalebo. Three are in a row near your ship. The fourth catwalk is located in the midst of a thick firefight against the Blarg. Once you clear them out, and before you head into the mayor’s office, ride the last catwalk. Step on the catwalk, and let Ratchet reach the end.

Death by Disco – Bronze Trophy

Use the Groovitron on every type of enemy

*Toss this sucker at everything. Make sure you get every type of every enemy, including bosses. Make overly certain that the enemy is dancing. I threw four Groovitrons at Nefarious at the end of the game, and he never danced on my first playthrough.

Trader in Training – Bronze Trophy

Complete your first holocard set

*Either collect all the cards by defeating enemies and finding packs, or trade in a set of five cards to complete a set. A set consists of three cards.

*Once you’ve collected raritanium, choose a weapon you want to modify and select the mod. You should be able to do this before you’ve rescued the plumber.

Cha-Ching! – Bronze Trophy

Reach the maximum bolt multiplier in Challenge mode

*This trophy requires a second playthrough. You must reach the maximum multiplier of 20 in challenge mode. In order to do this, you must kill enemies without taking damage. This is easily obtained if you go into Aridia and annihilate the land sharks. The multiplier significantly increases the amount of bolts you collect.

Trade Up – Bronze Trophy

Trade in a set of duplicate holocards for a new one

*Every five duplicate holocards can be traded in for a new one of your choice (assuming you have at least one card unlocked
