IT’S (A)LIVE! IT’S (A)LIVE!

Overwatch, Blizzard’s class-based first person shooter, has just launched its newest seasonal event: Overwatch Halloween Terror. The horror-themed promotion is their second seasonal event, following their Summer Games (an event themed to tie in with the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics). Similar to the Summer Games, there will be a variety of new cosmetic items such as skins and sprays up for grabs, all designed after traditional Halloween creepy-crawlies and spooky specters. There will also be a special game mode, Junkenstein’s Revenge, which offers Overwatch’s first PVE (Player Versus Enemy) mode. Players must face off in teams of four (made up of the characters Ana, Soldier 76, McCree, and Hanzo) in a desperate attempt to protect Castle Eichenwalde against a horde of zombie robots. There isn’t a single part of that sentence I didn’t like, except maybe Hanzo (and that’s just because I’m not too great with him).

Blizzard has promised more treats on their Overwatch Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages as the month goes on. Whether or not this includes the long-awaited character Sombra is yet to be seen.

The Halloween Terror update is now live on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
