According to a page on Nintendo’s website, the final two sets of Wii U bundles (the 32gig Splatoon and traditional bundles) have been discontinued, marking the end of the troubled console’s unsuccessful lifespan. While this is reported for production in Japan only, it’s safe to say that Nintendo is ready to move on entirely from the Wii and focus its attention to the Switch, due to launch in March.
While there’s no debating the Wii U’s failure from a business perspective, the forsaken console has generated its own niche band of dedicated fans. What are some of your favorite memories of the Wii U? Are you sad to see the console die off so soon? Or have you turned your eyes to the Nintendo Switch? Let us know in the comments!
