The latest trailer for the JRPG shows stealth gameplay elements.
A new trailer for Persona 5 focused on gameplay was released today. The new video is only a little under two minutes long but is fairly densely packed with details about how the game’s dungeons will play out. First, the narrative motivation for the game’s characters to enter these dungeons will apparently be to steal secrets from other people’s psyche Inception style. To go along with this theme the stealth mechanics of the game have been changed. In previous Persona games if a player could score and attack on an enemy before entering combat the player would gain an advantage in the resulting turn-based battle. Persona 5 has added cover to the maps making it easier to sneak up on enemies and given players the ability to stealthily zip between that cover. Additionally cornered or outmatched enemies can be extorted for items.
Persona 5 will be available April 4. Check out the new trailer below.
