Castle Crashers
At Gamescom 2016 in Cologne, Germany, Blizzard announced an upcoming map for their class-based shooter, Overwatch. Located in Germany, Eichenwalde is a quaint castle town that became the site of a massive battle between the German military and the robotic Omnic menace in Overwatch’s lore. The map is an assault/escort hybrid map, similar to the King’s Row and Hollywood maps the game already has. One side has a battering ram and a mission to recover the remains of a German military hero by the name of Balderich von Alder while the other side has a whole village and castle to defend from the invading force. No release date has been announced, but given that the support sniper Ana was added into a patch not too long after her announcement players may not have too long to wait.
Also announced was a new animated short starring everyone’s favorite Play of the Game-stealing robot, Bastion. The Last Bastion premieres at the convention on August 18, 2016 at 9 AM Pacific time; the premiere will be livestreamed on Blizzard’s Gamescom hub page.
