Choose your future
Video game companies make what they want to make. Sure, most of them are willing to see what fans liked about the last thing they released, but they don’t usually involve fans too heavily in the decision-making process. It’s just not always feasible; what the fans want and what a game company wants more often than not ends up being two completely different things. On the other hand, we have companies like Atlus, who just put out a long, long survey asking fans to tell them what to do with their most popular franchises. The survey, which runs through February 7, 2017, has a few surprises hidden in its 50-odd questions. These include a few fun-sounding ideas for Atlus’s ever-popular Persona franchise such as remasters of the first three titles, a shooting game, and a board game of all things.
The poll also offers a look into the future of its other series (such as Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Devil Survivor, and Odin Sphere) as well as what IPs from other companies Atlus feels worthy of special attention (read: competitors) such as NieR: Automata and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
You can find out more and check out the poll for yourself over at Siliconera. Fair warning, though, you should probably learn Japanese or have a very good translation tool before deciding to beg for that Persona 5 dancing game.
…real talk, though, they’re already talking Persona 6. Persona 6.
God help our wallets.
